Last night a group of us hung around for the arrival of Spooky, the AC-47 from Topeka. Spooky needed a place out of the elements for her annual, so she and her crew members will be in our hangar for a few weeks. That is why the Connie is really snugged up to the Martin right now. It's always nice to have visitors!

Fired Up on a Cold Day!

While Miss Elle still can, her engines were fired up and she did a little taxi out and back as part of a documentary that will be incorporated in the education program that is a work in progress. The great Speed of Flight team is doing this work for us, as well as a bunch of volunteers freezing on the ramp and a crew in the plane. Will be exciting to see the results.

Foamy Flying at the AHM

It was cold outside and even cold in the hangar but the flying was "hot!" Troy Hamm and Bill Payne of the Maverick Hobby's RC group came down with 4 of Troy's planes and gave us a little preview of what our Hangar Flying will look like when the weather cooperates and we can make it happen.

ATC 810 Simulator Moves to Its New Home

It's always fun to watch projects unfold here at the AHM. After determining that the only practical location for the new to us ATC 810 Simulator is in the old Radio Room, upstairs on the west side of the hangar, Marty Glaze, Rodger Johnson and Larry Henak undertook the project. Santa Comes to Connie--The Event!

Saturday, November 21st, we hosted our first annual (first annual because every one of the "cast" has already committed to making it an annual event!) Santa comes to Connie! About 150 guests joined our cast and staff of approximately 60 for Kansas City's most unique Santa photo opp and one of the largest gatherings of Stars Wars Universe members from both the Imperial Forces and the Rebels! First-here comes Santa Claus!
